The Child in Me

Its Children's day today, and me being the mom of two kids, still have the same enthusiasm I had when I was a child. Getting them ready in color dress and explaining to my little one what this day is all about, brought back some fond memories. We would look forward to this day the entire year. This was the day where we would see our teachers in their casual best. They would dance for us, treat us to chocolates and conduct all sorts of fun activities for us.

No matter how old I get, there is some part of me that refuses to grow up. There is still a child in me who giggles at the silliest of jokes, who loves to get wet in the rain and who cries on getting hurt. And I am not ashamed to say that. I love this part of me, the careless one who is unafraid of being judged, but unfortunately is known to only a close few. And I think all of us should keep that part of us alive and enjoy the little pleasures in life.

Someone rightly said: "If you carry you childhood with you, you never become old".

Rains Are Welcome

These past few days have been terrific, at least for me. Its been raining cats and dogs and its a welcome respite from the sunny, sultry weather that we usually have. Endless hours in traffic, wet clothes, power cuts all these are minor discomforts, compared to the fact that if not for these rains we would be practically running out of water in a few months.

Despite the situation being so dire, there are so many people who grumble about rains and the discomfort it puts them through. And these are the people who are the lucky few who did not have water logged in their home or one of their dear ones electrocuted. So, have we become so intolerant that we fail to see the larger picture.

Imagine our future generations, who would be practically left with no water. Why go so far? Even we might be struggling for water if the current trend of dry weather continues. So, just take a minute to think and you sure would get the bigger picture.

Stay Calm and Enjoy the Rains with a plate of hot bajjis!
